If year after year you find yourself wanting to try something new for Christmas, this post is for you! After searching around the web for inspiration we’ve rounded up some of the best alternative toppings for your Christmas Pudding. Here are our top choices:
- Festive Ice Cream – Who doesn’t love ice cream? We saw some incredibly creative flavours such as stem ginger, honeycomb (using Crunchies!), cinnamon or cranberry. All you need to do is buy a good quality vanilla ice cream, finely chop your chosen ingredients and mix well! Ice cream is perfect on a hot pudding, especially if it adds another wintery flavour.
- Nutty Garnish – Great for adding a bit of crunch. Just put your favourite nuts (pistachios and pecans work well) drizzled with honey in the oven until they caramelise, and roughly chop.
- Baileys Custard – Now, we definitely need to try this! Just add a splash (or however much you want!) of Baileys to your vanilla custard and enjoy!
- Infused Cream – We saw this go from the delicious, adding cinnamon sticks to cream and leaving overnight, to the bizarre with Christmas tree flavoured cream! Apparently, you can leave some washed stems from a Christmas tree in cream and it will have a delicious pine flavour and scent. Who’s brave enough to try this one?
